CLASSES

Jazz and HipHop

Our Classes combine jazz technique (turns, isolations, progressions and jumps) with commercial Hip hop. We offer a range of classes catering for a variety of ages and abilities.

Hip hop has a strong emphasis on style and personality as well as technique. Hip hop is the style of dance which you see in music clips.

Students have worked with Demi Soprano (So you think you can Dance). They were a part of the youth dance crew who performed at the Hammer Hall opening at the Melbourne Art Centre in 2012.  Students have enjoyed workshops with Steps and Sounds and Challe Bullus. We have been awarded the Best Business entry for the Begonia Festival on three occasions for our performance in the parade.

We dance to the latest tracks and have a commitment to keeping up with the latest dance trends.

Tap

Rythmn patterns and steps from the tap repertoire are taught in our tap classes.  Students will begin with the basics of tap and progress to more difficult tap steps and combinations such as time steps, tap turns and wings.

A strong emphasis is put on timing and the ability to listen to the music and each other.

Theory and the names of tap steps and combinations will be included in each class.
